The Power Of Migos Success Is Deeply Rooted In Family

Family is everything and in the case of the hip hop trio Migos, that’s literally true. Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff make up the group and the three are in fact family: Quavo is Takeoff's uncle, and Offset is Quavo's cousin. The three were raised by Quavo’s mother in suburban Atlanta and through any hardships, challenges and successes, they’ve done it all together. The group formed in 2008 using the stage name “Polo Club” but later changed it to “Migos.” Some say it’s not good to involve family in business because it can get messy. On the other hand, there’s nothing better than the whole family prospering, together.
Migos isn’t the first successful family in the music business, of course. The Jackson 5, Fugees (Wyclef and Pras are cousins) and a host of others come to mind. Still, it’s refreshing today to see Migos winning as a family. So often today family is considered a curse instead of a blessing. We often see dysfunction of families paraded in the headlines but Migos is an example of family sticking together and even when money and fame comes, choosing to stay committed to each other. Family is precious and blood is thicker than water. With all their success, the members of Migos keep that central.
