On March 20 Lil Durk’s solo album ‘7220’ reached the #1 spot with 120,500 total album-equivalent sales. This was no overnight success. Durk has been at it for years and he’s endured his share of setbacks. He originally signed with Def Jam in the early 2010s but by 2018 he’d hit a wall. He decided to start fresh in Atlanta and Alamo Records, a move that’s working out quite well today. Durk took to Instagram to celebrate the accomplishment on the night of the 20th saying, “I got a real #1 album, I came a long way and really ain’t suppose to be here.”
Lil Durk’s story is one of perseverance and flexibility. Plans don’t always work out and at times, seeking opportunity might take you to places you’re not originally intended to go.
Durk was willing to stick it out and even leave his hometown to keep advancing his career and today he’s the rap king, based on the sales numbers. There are no overnight successes: there’s only success, which has no shortcuts. Lil Durk is living out his dreams and Rap Snacks is proud to also feature him on several of our new products.
